After a few hours of flight, you finally arrived in another country, but your SIM card or eSIM is installed but doesn’t work? Don't panic, Liuzai will tell you some tips to remove obstacles, just follow them and you can use it~

Currently, most SIM cards on the market can be used as soon as they are inserted. Only a few network cards require prior notification of the activation time and are activated by the SIM card manufacturer. Then why is it that there are cases where the phone cannot be used after installing a SIM card or eSIM? Common problems include the following:
1. Roaming is not enabled
If you are not using a native line or a network card with a local IP, you need to enable data roaming. Some models will pop up a warning that "additional charges may occur". Please don't worry, you are going to turn on the roaming of the travel network card. As long as you turn off or remove the original Taiwan Telecom SIM card, there will be no additional charges.
2. Carrier and APN settings are not loaded correctly
When the SIM card is inserted into a mobile phone, the SIM card will report to the base station, telling the base station that I have arrived in Japan (or other regions)! The SIM card will communicate with the system provider's platform through the base station to obtain system setting information, including APN and telecom operator information. However, due to issues such as local base station signals, mobile phone models, operating system versions, etc., the setting information provided by the platform may not be automatically imported into the mobile phone system.
If the correct settings cannot be automatically imported, the phone may have a step-like signal but no 3G, 4G, 5G, LTE or other data network transmission signals. Please follow the steps below to manually set it up.

iPhone version:
1. Confirm and select a telecom operator
Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection, turn off "Automatic", and manually select a supported carrier.
2. Check and manually set the APN
Settings > Mobile Services > Mobile Data Network.
In the "APN" field, enter the APN information provided by the SIM card manufacturer and return to the previous page. The APN will be indicated on the label sticker on the outer packaging of the SIM card or in the email of the eSIM.
3. Restart your phone
After completing the above steps, turn off wifi and restart your phone, wait 1-3 minutes and check if the network is connected normally.
Android version:
1. Confirm and select a telecom operator
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Carriers, turn off "Automatically select network" and manually select a supported carrier.
2. Check and manually set the APN
Samsung: Settings > Other networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Name (APN)
OPPO: Settings > General > Mobile Network > Access Point Name (APN)
Xiaomi: Settings > Mobile Network > Select SIM1/SIM2 > Access Point Name (APN)
Pixel: Settings > Select Network & Internet > SIM card > Access point name
Edit an existing APN or click the (+) button in the upper right corner to add a new APN. The APN will be marked on the label sticker on the outer packaging of your SIM card or in the email of the eSIM. The name and APN can be entered the same. Be sure to click "Save" after entering, and then return to the previous page to select the APN that has been set.
3. Restart your phone
After completing the above steps, turn off wifi and restart your phone, wait 1-3 minutes and check if the network is connected normally.
